A clinic in Kyrgyzstan, an Asian country, had to inject thousands of doses of the Sputnik V vaccine against Kovid-19. After turning off one of the refrigerators that someone kept to charge his cell phone. The information is from the French Press.

Local authorities confirmed the case and in April walked into a public clinic in the Kyrgyz capital and largest city, Bisque, but it has now been released.

The government has been criticized for delaying in explaining the missing doses. The lost vaccines were part of a batch of 20,000 doses of humanitarian aid provided by Russia to a Central Asian country. The vaccination campaign in Kyrgyzstan began in March, with Sputnik V, the most widely used immunization in the country, administering immunizations from the Chinese company Sinoform.

According to Health Minister Alimkadir Beshenaliev, the mistake was made by a maintenance worker looking for an outlet to charge a cell phone.
“If this is the fault of one of the staff, the cleaning lady or someone else, the clinic will have to respond financially,” the manager said.

As of Friday (21), more than one lakh Kovid-19 cases and 1,735 deaths had been reported in Asian countries out of a population of 6.5 million.
