Actor Anupam Kher recounted the tale of this image of himself with Michael Jackson when the latter frequented India in 1996. Anupam Kher claimed that he was among the the “selected people” who lined up to meet the King of Pop, who stood on an “improvised stage with his bodyguards,” at Oberoi Resort gardens in 1996. Anupam Kher claimed he “broke the barricade” to hug MJ and was just about ‘bodily picked up by Michael Jackson’s bodyguards” when film distributor Bharat Shah (who had organised the fulfill-and-greet) intervened and released Anupam Kher to Michael Jackson as the “greatest actor in India.”

Here’s what Anupam Kher wrote: “When Michael Jackson visited India in 1996 a team of selected persons ended up invited to fulfill him solely at Oberoi lodge gardens. I was also the fortunate one particular. Thanks to Bharat Bhai Shah. There was a modest stage established up in the yard with a barricade for the special guests. MJ walked down from his suite and stood on the improvised stage with his bodyguards. There was silence and perception of awe amongst the picked guests. I was searching at this magician who experienced enthralled and hypnotised the total universe with his electrifying performances.”

“He was just couple of ft away from me. I preferred to seize this minute. So, I broke the barricade jumped on the phase and virtually hugged MJ. The bodyguards rushed toward me and ahead of they could decide me up bodily Bharat Bhai Shah in worry launched me to Michael Jackson as the most significant actor in India. He right away and politely bent down and shook a jubilant me’s fingers. And my record was captured in this picture.”
