The Irish Government and Parliament have called on Israel to abide by its obligations under international law, as determined by the Fourth Geneva Convention’s Civilian Approach. Al Watan Voice.

The appeal was made in a letter signed by Palestinian National Council (CNP) President Salim Sana’un, signed by Irish Parliament Speaker Sean O’Farrell and Chancellor Simon Cowney.

The statement reiterated Dublin’s position on the situation in Jerusalem under international law, noting that Israeli special Jewish settlements in the occupied city were illegal and that Palestinian families in the region would be evicted.

Irish officials have warned that such actions could be seen as an impediment to peace, and called on Israel to immediately close its settlements.

The statement was made in response to a letter from Sana’un, which reported the latest developments in the Palestinian neighborhood of Sheikh Jarra, occupied Jerusalem, Batan al-Hawa and the Al-Aqsa Mosque complex.

At the last meeting of the UN Security Council, Ireland condemned the Israeli army’s continued eviction of Palestinian families in Sheikh Zara and Sylvan.

Dublin said in a letter that the situation in Jerusalem was crucial to reaching a just and peaceful peace agreement.
