The report summarizes the results of a screening study for the presence of selected Reaches and persistent, mobile, and toxic compounds (PMT).

Samples from sewage treatment plants, sludge, sludge, freshwater waste, tunnel wash water, biota, and household dust.

Of the 85 priority key materials in the project, e.g. In the plastics, rubber and polymer industries, hydraulics, lubricants, UV stabilizers, dyes, pigments, personal care products, various biocides and pharmaceuticals.

The project aims to map the presence and potential sources of these substances in the Norwegian marine and freshwater environment and air. The results of this report may lead to future national or international legislation at the European (Reich) or global level (UNEP).

The five most commonly found substances are:

Hexadesyltrimethylammonium (ATAC-C16), CAS No. 57-09-0, averaged 18119 g / kg TS (65 out of 65 samples). ATACs are widely used as ingredients in industrial applications, and are also found in household products, including fabric softeners, detergents, disinfectants, preservatives, and a variety of personal care products.

2. Phthalate in Dundeus, branched and linear, CAS No. 85507-79-5, average 6679 / g / kg TS (63 out of 65 samples). The compound is a phthalate used in the production of polymers.

Cap-Caprolactam, CAS No. 105-60-2, means 2443 g / kg TS (64 out of 65 samples). This compound is used not only in inks and toners, but also in machine detergents, car care products, paints, coatings or adhesives, perfumes and air fresheners.

4. Benzyldimethyldodesilamonium (BAC-C12), CAS No. 139-07-1, average 1077 / g / kg TS (65 out of 65 samples). BAC compounds are biocides that also have antimicrobial effects. Ia Pharmaceutical products, personal care products, etc.

5. Permethrin, CAS No. 52645-53-1, averaged 1050 µg / kg TS (58 out of 65 samples). This compound is a common insecticide for treating a variety of pests (i.e., scab, lice, ants, flies) and spiders (i.e., spiders, mites, and ticks).
