The first International Day of Human Brotherhood received applause from the Irish Episcopal Conference. In a note signed by Bishop Alan McGuccan, President of the Council of Bishops for Justice and Peace, “Uniting us all as human beings, believers in God, is more than easily separated by reason of division.”

The Doctrine of Fraternity – Introduction – Observes – Underlines the challenges we all face in the world, including “injustice, poverty, terrorism and environmental degradation.” This is the invitation of the Catholic Church in Ireland to look to the example of the Good Samaritan, who, as Pontiff underlines in the encyclopedia “Fratelli Tutti” does not follow his path, but “overcomes all cultural, religious and historical barriers and takes care of others”.

Therefore, the vows of the Bishops of Dublin to this day are that the faithful “reflect on this resolution, increase their efforts in favor of mutual and mutual dialogue, promote a culture of tolerance, accept others and arrange peaceful co-operation. Contribute to the significant reduction of many economic, social, political and environmental problems that carry a great deal of weight to a large part of humanity. ”

Finally, Bishop McGuccan concludes by quoting the opening words of the “Doctrine of the Brotherhood,” saying, “Faith moves the believer to see, support, and love another brother. By faith in God who created the universe and all human beings equal to His mercy, to express this human brotherhood and to protect the whole of creation and the universe and to support all people, especially the poorest and poorest.
