Chennai: DMK leader MK Stalin has demanded that the central BJP government lift the ban on 69 per cent reservation in admission to biotechnology MTech and postgraduate courses at Anna University.

In a statement, MK Stalin said it was “shocking” that Anna University had announced that admissions to MTech, Biotechnology, MTech and Computational Technology would not be available this year.

The Department of Biotechnology was first established in India in 1986 at Anna University. The department, which initially started with 12 M.Tech students, now has up to 45 students.
