In the first round of the tournament in San Diego on Thursday, Patrick Reid of the United States and Alex Noran of Sweden took the lead in Open Farmers’ Insurance for the PGA Tour, playing 64 (-8) on Thursday.
Reed had eight birds. In addition to getting the eagle down and making a buggy, Noren recorded seven. Two golfers are just one stroke ahead of third-placed American Scotty Sheffler with a score of 65 (-7).

Roger Sloan posted the best Canadian performance of the day, bringing up 68 (-4) cards, best for 21st. Alberton, who made two bogies with six birds, is associated with 10 other golfers, including Northern Irishman Rory McIlroy.
