The direct smuggling relationship between France and Ireland is on the rise

Freight traffic between France and the UK fell by a third in the third week of January.

Brexit pulls the port of Cherbourg out of its torpedo. Freight traffic between the United Kingdom and the European Union fell 38% in January, but this is a rivalry between France and Ireland. The direct connection between the island and the mainland is growing to overcome the British barrier synonymous with customs formalities. The crossing between Ireland’s southeastern Rossler and Cherberg, Saint – Malo, Roskoff or Dunkirk takes 17 to 24 hours, but half is replaced by a “Land Bridge” (Landbridge) Great Britain, success is undeniable.

Four companies, Stena Line, Irish Ferries, Danish DFDS and Brittany Ferris, have redeployed ships on these direct routes. Stena moved to place a boat in France between Ireland and the British West Coast. Traffic between Dublin and Holyhead fell 50% in January. In Cherberg it tripled from 9,000 trucks
