Osama Abu Hajar posted a photo of the ruins of his ruined city next to a photo of him graduating from the Carlo Institute of Technology in Ireland last November.

Prior to the conflict, Osama was studying electrical and mechanical engineering at the University of Aleppo. He and his family emigrated to Lebanon and moved to Ireland a year later with the support of a rehabilitation program. Unhcr (United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees).

At the time, Osama knew only a few words in English. The following year he enrolled in a computer programming course at Dublin Business School. In 2016 he passed the Software Engineering course at the Carlo Institute of Technology.

The young man said in an interview with the Mirror that his LinkedIn post, which received more than 500,000 likes, would inspire his friends still living in Syria to pursue their dreams.

After graduating, Osama got a job at the Swedish multinational Ericsson.
