Turning the airport runway into a Christmas theme was done by the Shannon Airport team in Ireland. Well, at least one photo montage for a social media campaign.

“Santa Claus has no problem traveling to Ireland as he travels around the world this Christmas morning, thanks to a festive initiative at Shannon Airport,” the airport said in a statement.

The airport has launched a festive advertising campaign that includes a redesign of the airport runway, Ireland’s longest runway. The “catwalk” was redesigned as a Christmas tree decorated with colorful lights and finished with a Christmas star.

“The film aims to give a little festive joy as Santa Claus and the Reindeer team plan their routes on their epic annual journey to deliver gifts to children around the world,” the statement added.

A Shannon Group spokesman said: “After a difficult year for the people of Ireland, we wanted to welcome Santa Claus as he prepared to fly over Shannon Airport. “Whatever happens, Christmas continues to be a moment of hope and joy. We wish everyone a Merry Christmas in a real way.”

Shannon Airport was the only airport in Ireland on Christmas Day. The airport terminal building is decorated in an original festive style, and the airport’s anti-Kovid-19 program will ensure that holidaymakers feel safe while traveling through the airport.
