The ‘Fire and Rain’ singer added that the encounter took place about 25 minutes from the scene where Chapman Lennon was shot.

Chapman, now 65, was denied parole for the 11th time in August.

He pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and is currently serving a life sentence of 20 years at the Wendy Correctional Facility in Erie County, New York.

Chapman will now remain in bars for at least two years, with the next hearing scheduled for August 2022. He first qualified for parole in 2000.
