Sting signed with All Elite Wrestling (AEW).

Iconic grappler, one of WCW’s biggest names in the 1990s, later enjoyed a minor misspelling with WWE during his career working in Impact Wrestling – signing a contract with a rival company.

The company announced after his shock debut during ‘Dynamite’ on Wednesday night: “Tonight AEW confirmed that Sting has officially signed a full – time, multi – year contract.”

The legendary star made a comeback during AW’s TNT broadcast, the first to appear on the network – broadcast by WCW that day – nearly two decades ago.

In a statement, AEW boss Tony Khan said: “The stunning introduction to Sting is a great way to celebrate our biggest ‘dynamite’ episode.

“When AEW was launched, I was eager to bring wrestling back to TNT after a long absence.

Sting defeated the legendary Rick Flair in his last wrestling match on TNT for more than 18 years until his debut in Dynamite in 2019.

“Now, almost two decades later, it’s very exciting to welcome Sting to AEW and bring him back to TNT!”

The 61-year-old, who hit the ring after a tag team match between Cody Rhodes, Darby Allin and their rivals Ricky Starkus and Powerhouse Hobbs, made his debut on the special ‘Winter Is Coming’ edition of ‘Dynamite’.

The former won both before being attacked by rivals Team Toss and Sting.

As the snow fell for the DoDoor show, he came face to face with fellow WCW alumni Arn Anderson and walked back to the ramp, before acknowledging Allin, Cody, and brother Dustin Rhodes.

Sting’s last match in the WWE came in 2015 against Seth Rollins in the Night of Champions, and he was inducted into the company’s Hall of Fame the following year.

In October of this year the company withdrew their goods from their online store, suggesting that the time with them was over.
