Shane Daly and John Ryan from Munster Ireland welcome back. Defensive coach JP Ferreira said the duo will have enough game time in their clash with Benetton at the Guinness PRO14 Treviso this Saturday.

Experienced tighthead prop Ryano has seen no action in the last two rounds of Ireland’s uncapped fullback Dalio, hoping to showcase their talents ahead of Friday’s Autumn Nations Cup campaign, with head coach Johan van Gran rejoined. November 13 Wales visits Aviva Stadium.

“John Ryan and Shane Daly are back with us,” she said, adding that they will be training with us. Once they are ready they will be on the pitch.

“Gaining speed in the game is essential for them to gain speed, and when the call comes back from the Irish team, they’re ready to go. We’re really pushing them back, they ‘re sharp.”

After winning four games in the 2020-21 PRO14 campaign, Daly and Ryan are on high alert with a provincial squad. Munster took a seven-point lead over Conference B. Three of these four wins are against conference rivals Scarlett, Edinburgh and Cardiff Blues. Last Sunday the Dragons won the Rodney Parade 28-16.

“It’s exciting,” Ferreira said. “We ‘ve given two young men some good game time, and the younger ones are getting louder because they have less game time.

“We are now on the 16 week block and everyone needs to have game time. A rotation policy is crucial for us to get everyone on board.

“From an offloading game standpoint, it’s weather dependent. We played wet games and a few cowards against Edinburgh and the Scarlett (two senior players were forced to isolate themselves from the Corona virus and others), but then we got it.

“It depends on the weather. It was wet on the weekend against the Dragons. Yes, it’s there. We have a game plan for offload, but we do not want to throw 50/50s in such weather.”

Munster wing Darren Sweetnam (knee) and center Dan Goggin (shoulder) will not be available for a visit to Studio Monigo against a year looking for their first win.

Defensive coach Ferreira also explained Munster’s thinking behind the signing of Ben Murphy, the Ireland Under – 20 player, on a seven – week loan from Leinster’s sub – academy.

“We look around and work with IRFU. We were looking at someone like Ethan Coglan from Enis, a local boy, but he’s injured now.

“So with the knowledge of the IRFU, we have brought in Ben Murphy from the Irish U20s, and he will be with us for weeks before making another assessment of that ground.

“We’m currently less than nine with Craig (Casey) and Nick (McCarthy), so this is a stimulus for us in that area.”
