Five more deaths in Northern Ireland

Five more deaths with Kovid-19 have been reported in Northern Ireland in the last 24 hours. The Department of Health said 727 new cases of the virus had been reported.

The death toll is 658.

34,832 cases were confirmed in Northern Ireland. 6,828 cases in the last seven days.

Kovid-19 currently treats 342 patients and 39 are in intensive care.

A ward at Ulster Hospital on the outskirts of Belfast has been closed for new admissions as Kovid-19 has affected patients and staff.

The Southeastern Health Trust has confirmed that there are several staff and patients affected by Kovid-19 in a medical ward at Ulster Hospital.

Meanwhile, police in Northern Ireland have issued more than 3,000 fines and warnings related to corona virus control.

Failure to self-isolate a total of 3,118 also carries a $ 1,000 fine and $ 45 fine.

Since March, 1,598 penalty notices, 1,075 community resolution notices and 400 prohibition notices have been issued.

The figures were released as part of a weekly update on policy enforcement of the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) rules.

Most fines and warnings are issued in the Belfast City Council area (1,327).

Derry City, Strabaine (503), Nury, Morne, Dunn (240), Armag, Bonbridge, Craigown (236), Antrim & Newta own Nbobaby (169), Fermanagh, Omag (167).

The lowest was handed over in Lisburn, Castlereagh Council area (49).
