“Being honest is cruel” – Andy Burnham learns new corona virus guidelines live on TV

There were unusual scenes in Manchester this afternoon, with live coverage of the Andy Berneham government’s decision on the Tier 3 Lockdown decision.

Sir Richard Lees, standing to the left of Mr. Burnham, showed the mayor a passage which confirmed more information about the decision taken by Downing Street.

Speaking at a press conference outside Bridgewater Hall, Burnham found that the lockdown would take effect on Friday, and Sir Richard said the area would receive only $ 20 million.

The amount was later clarified to be m 22 million.

Crowds gathered outside the concert hall to hear Mr. Burnham speak, shouting ‘insulting’.

“Being honest is cruel, isn’t it?” The mayor said in response to what he was told.

He continued: “This is not a way to lead the country into a national crisis. This is not right. They should not do this. Saving people is trying to accept the minimum they can escape.

“It is absolutely humiliating that we have 22 million m to fight the situation.”

Minutes later, Boris Johnson attended a press conference of his own on Downing Street, Medical Advisers.

Although no economic package has been agreed to support the region, the Prime Minister has announced that Greater Manchester will be relegated to three restrictions.

Burnham had hoped the government would hand over $ 75 million to help businesses, the self-employed, and others who are forced to close, losing income.

He said local leaders were willing to accept $ 65 million but the government refused to offer more than $ 60 million.

After passing the government-imposed deadline for negotiations, No. 10 has now announced that it will support MPs for only $ 22 million.

The press conference was held outside the Bridge Water Hall

Speaking at a heated press conference outside The Bridgewater Hall, Burnham asked: “Is this a game of poker with people’s lives?

“Is the government trying to pressure people to take as little as they can to escape?”

This means that Greater Manchester is now moving from tier 2 to ‘high’ alert level to tier 3 – the ‘very high’ alert level.

Pubs and bars that do not serve ‘substantial’ food should be closed under strict regulations.

Inside and outside the home, special homes are banned from hospitality venues or private gardens.

In dotdoor public places like parks, people can visit up to six people from different homes in groups.
