Aaron van-Bisaka did not receive a goal bonus despite hitting the back of the net against Newcastle this weekend.

Right-back scored his first goal for the Red Devils – and the first of his career – in a 4-1 victory, beating Carl Darlow and smashing the ball into the top of the Magpies net.

But he did not get a cash bonus for his achievement.

Accordingly Athletic, Man United bosses have ruled out including a goal bonus in the England player’s contract in a $ 50 million deal from Crystal Palace.

Before signing for the Red Devils in 2019, the defender had only handled one shot at goal in 37 Premier League games, and Ole Gunnar Soulsjer did not believe it would be worthwhile to encourage goals.

Van-Bisaka’s Manchester United team-mate Bruno Fernandes talks about a right-back unlikely goal against Newcastle.

“[We were so happy] Because we did not know he could shoot! Fernandes said MUTV. “So it’s hard for us to believe he can score because we never see the shooting.

“We just talked about it in the dressing room and asked him because he thought we all wanted to get in, and he makes a bad ball and scores.

“But I’m happy for him, he’s worthy of the goal, we always ask him this. Be more positive, be more in the box, try and improve because he has such good qualities.

“Everyone knows about a defensive player and everyone, but he needs to show that he’s more than a defensive player. I think he has the qualities to show that.”
