Nicholas Lynnhurst was supported by his former colleague Sir David Jason following the death of his 19-year-old son, Archie.
Archie was found dead at his family home in west London. The cause of death was classified as not suspicious.
Now Sir David, Nicholas’ former only fool and horseman, approached the family to express support.
At Sitcom, Del Boy and Rodney Trotter have appeared together on screen for more than 20 years.
Speaking to The Sun, one source said: “Although David and Nick are no longer on screen together, David and Nick are very close, so he contacted Nick as soon as he knew what had happened to Archie.”

Molly continued: “He has been in regular contact ever since – like everyone else who cares for Nick and his family – trying to support him as much as he can.
“Nick’s heart is broken and David is doing everything he can to support him.”
Nicholas, 59, and his wife, Lucy, recently addressed the death of Archie, who made a name for himself on the CBC show Zoe Aquarius.

The heartbroken father said: “Lucy and I are deeply saddened and politely request privacy.”
Lucy took to Instagram to comment on Jack Whitehall’s post – Jack had been working with Archie for ten years and was instantly close to the set.
During the Locke period, Archie delivered food to Jack’s parents.
She wrote: “We will love him one day forever, the lucky parents who have got the most amazing unique son who has bought nothing but the joy of our lives.”
Lucy later thanked Jack for the wonderful opportunity and the “kindness and friendship” with Archie.
The Daily Star approached Nicholas Linhurst’s representatives for an online comment.
