Tyrell Hutton presented himself with a birthday present, fulfilling his childhood dream of winning the BMW PGA Championship.

Hutton, who scored 67 in Wenworth, won his fifth European Tour title with 19, four more shots than France’s Victor Perez.

For Shane Lowry, it was the final round of 73 runs, which was pokemarked with mistakes, and it will be disappointing what will happen after leading the 2019 British Open champion through two rounds.

Lori took the lead through eight holes on Saturday but on the ninth the double bogie appeared to be out of tune with him, but he never got it back.

On Sunday, the second and third early bogies rewarded real hopes of success. He picked Birdy on the fourth, 12th and 18th, but the seventh and fifteenth bogies followed him with weekend scores of 74 and 73, respectively. 67 and 65 in the first two days.

As Hutton updates his ranking on Monday, two days before his 29th birthday, he is set to make it into the top ten in the world.

“It’s unbelievable,” he told Sky Sports. “It was one of my goals to win this tournament in my career. I’m sad to not be able to experience the spectators, but winning this trophy is amazing.”

Hutton, who won the Arnold Palmer Invitational in March, saw his three shots wipe out in four holes overnight, with Perez turning the second into a bird and the eagle rising from 22 feet on the fourth.

A bird on the fifth edge came back in front of Hutton, but on the seventh, Perez reacted quickly with a bird, but from the ninth, Hutton curled up with a hat-trick to clear two shots.

The leading pair traded close to 11 similar berths, with the pair finishing 13th after a shot from Perez on the 12th-12th, but Hutton took the decisive blow with his fifth berdy.

A wild drive from Perez led to a bogie on the 17th, leaving Hutton clear to enjoy the last two holes, his fifth European Tour title and first prize of $ 868,000.

Former Masters champion Patrick Reid finished 18th on the second day. England’s Andy Sullivan were tied for third in the 14th. 65 day best score.

European Rider Cup captain Pedreig Harrington scored 71 in the final round and finished 40th in two under-two races. Graeme McDowell produced the best round of the week – 67 – under 24 at the age of six.
