With Ireland coach Andy Farrell taking charge of the British and Irish Lions in 2025, Simon Easterby will take over as interim boss of the Clover XV at the next 6 Nations tournament and Tour de France.

The Irish team, who are double title holders in the 6 Nations tournament, will begin the defense of their trophies when they host England at the Aviva Stadium on February 1, 2025. But Andy Farrell, coach of the XV du Trèfle since 2019, will not be taking the stand as head coach. This will be Simon Easterby, who has coached Irish forwards and defenses since 2014. The former third-rower was appointed as interim coach this Tuesday as Andy Farrell takes over at the British and Irish Lions in 2025. Easterby will headline a Clover XV for the next 6 Nations tournament and subsequent summer tour, details of which are yet to be revealed. “It is a great honor to be asked to lead the Ireland team and I am delighted to accept. I look forward to working with the coaching staff and talented players while Andy is away from the British and Irish Lions teams. I have thoroughly enjoyed being a part of the Men's National Team's journey over the past ten years and I believe even brighter days are ahead as we prepare for an extraordinary few months ahead.
