Vaccination against Kovid-19 is progressing rapidly in the European Union. Half of the population is now considered fully immunized, with 223.8 million people receiving two doses, one dose or one dose of vaccine after recovery. Of the 27 member states, 13 completely crossed the 50% barrier to immunization, as did the four most populous countries in the block: Spain (58%), Italy (54%), France (53%), and Germany (52%). Malta (74%), Belgium (59%) and Spain (58%) have the highest number of immunizations in the European Union. Bulgaria (14%) and Romania (25%) have the lowest immunizations.

About 60% of the EU population (59.5%) received at least one dose of the vaccine, or 265.9 million people. The European Union, which continues to vaccinate at a steady rate, has now surpassed the United States: on August 1, 49.7% of the population (up from 49.8% in the EU) was fully vaccinated and 57.8% were vaccinated for the first time (59.3% in the EU). Every day for the past week, the European Union has given doses of 0.6% of its population, which is declining, but three times higher (0.2%) than in the United States.

To date, four vaccines have been approved in the European Union, developed by Pfizer / Bioentech, Modena, AstraZeneca / Oxford, and Johnson & Johnson. In addition to these vaccines, Hungary and Slovakia use vaccines that are not approved by the European Medicine Agency (EMA), developed in Russia or China.
