YouTube dares to pay YouTubers expensive to create content in shorts

JakartaYouTube The creators will be paid up to $ 10,000 per month to popularize videos on Tic Tac rival YouTube Shorts. To this end, YouTube has set aside $ 100 million from next year.

YouTube expects this to be original video for creating content in shorts, never published on other platforms such as Tick Tock, Snapchat or Reels. If this turns out to be a re-upload, YouTube will disqualify the creator from accepting the payment.

At this point, YouTube will pay the creators based on the ads they place in front of their videos. The more ads shown, the thicker the content creator’s pocket will be.

But with shorts, YouTube Create alternative forms of payment to reward content creators.

“The shorts fund will eventually be replaced with a scalable, long – term fundraising program,” said Neil Mohan, YouTube’s chief product officer. The Verge, Wednesday (4/8/2021).

The payment scheme is not based on ads, but on how often other people watch the video.

Mohan points out YouTube Content creators do not have to use shorts to popularize their content.

“If content creators want to make long-term documentaries, they can use the YouTube platform. If they want to make short videos, they can use the shorts platform, ”he said.
