People’s “Sexiest Male Alive” of 1985 infamously produced homophobic opinions to a Spanish newspaper in 1991, and claimed he desired New York Times writer Frank Rich’s “intestines on a stick” soon after the critic skewered “The Passion of the Christ.”

In Gibson’s most infamous incident in 2010, tapes surfaced of epic misogynistic and racist tirades recorded by previous girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva, with quotations which include “If you get raped by a pack of [N-words], it will be your fault.”

Grigorieva claimed he had punched her on the head and facial area on a number of events. Gibson pleaded no contest to a cost of misdemeanor battery in 2011 and served no jail time.

The Oscar-successful actor-director’s father, the late writer Hutton Red Gibson, as soon as gave an interview in which he declared the Holocaust “fiction.”
