The Great British Bake OffLaura Adlington has admitted that she predicted who would win on the first day the contestants landed in the white tent.

“I feel so blessed and incredibly proud of everyone who made this possible. Big congratulations Peter! Lottie and I have clocked you as our winner from day one !!!”

During the final episode, the remaining hopefuls had to collect custard pieces for the signature challenge, the walnut hurricane in technology, and the dessert towers for the showstopper.

As the show was filming over the summer, the trio had to cook their creations during the hot season, which added to their own challenges … and led to sticky, melted bakes and well-placed show stoppers.
