Most IT professionals find Microsoft to be bilingual Windows 10 Updates are practically useless, according to recent survey findings.
According to a survey by Askwoody.com’s network consultant and author, Susan Bradley, 60% of administrators believe updates are “rarely useful” – coming from the people in charge of Windows 10 maintenance for their organizations.
A minority of 20% of respondents think that at least some value will be given to Windows 10 updates, while 22% are indifferent to Microsoft’s efforts.

Microsoft It takes a lot of time and energy to curate its two annual Windows 10 updates, which were published in the fall and spring – the latest of which Windows 10 Edition 2004.
These Windows 10 builds are supported for 18 months after launch. At the end of this cycle, administrators will need to upgrade to the latest version to receive important patches, both security and non-security.
Frequent updates are designed to provide new features, optimize Windows 10 UI, and increase security, but IT professionals seem to think little about improvements.
“It’s mostly bells, whistles and window dressing. It doesn’t seem to be dealing with any of the basic issues, ”said one defendant.
“There is no indication that they think some new features are valuable to our time or even to them,” complained another.
Others said the regular cycle would actually work against Microsoft, putting pressure on the organization to release updates on a schedule regardless of their eligibility.
“We can focus on more useful features, such as an upgraded file explorer, an always-running start menu, and context-sensitive help, ‘while it’s time to release some new feature updates, with or without useful new features,’ suggested another survey partner.
However, Microsoft will get some relief as Windows 10 updates seem to be moving in the right direction. Data from a similar survey by Bradley in 2018 show that 70 percent of IT executives at the time rejected bi-annual feature updates.
Thus, while IT professionals are slightly more receptive to Windows 10 updates, the difference between administrators’ opinion and Microsoft’s respect for its updates suggests that the order is being reconsidered.
