JoeNASA scientists with discoveries that could be crucial in the study of science. There are indications of a planet orbiting a star in a galaxy outside the Milky Way galaxy. NASA’s Lunar X – ray Observatory has provided information about a planet outside the Milky Way.
Signs of a new planet have been found in the Whirlpool galaxy known as M-51. The Whirlpool Galaxy is located 28 million light-years from Earth. That is, light travels 28 million years.
The planets outside the Solar System, including the Sun and the surrounding planets, are known as Exoplanets. About 4,000 exoplanets have been found so far in the Milky Way galaxy, which includes the Solar System. This is the first time the planet’s presence has been detected in a galaxy outside the Milky Way.
Scientists have named the new planetary system M51-ULS1. It is estimated to be the size of Saturn. This planet is called ‘Extroplanet’ because it is outside our galaxy.
X-ray analysis of M51-ULS1 provided clues about the new planet. At the same time, scientists say it will take decades to confirm that what has now been discovered is the planet itself.
The new findings are published in the latest issue of the scientific journal Nature Astronomy.
