A video posted on social media captured the moment the plane, flying over the Andes mountain range that divides Argentina and Chile, ran into severe turbulence and began to shake violently. In the background, screams of despair can be heard from passengers who fear the possibility of the plane crashing down.

The images shared by DJ and influencer Nico Vallorani on Tik Tok have more than 6.6 million views, 953 thousand likes and almost 12 thousand comments. In the recording, it is possible to observe how the plane’s wing shakes and shakes, and the audio reveals the weather characteristic of the journey.

“What would you do if this happened to you?”, the DJ asks in the post. While the images only show the exterior landscape, such as the towering peaks of the Andes mountain range, the audio gives an idea of the reaction of the passengers on board.

“Mommy, I have to get off,” a woman cries insistently. The screams grow louder each time the plane shakes. “We’re all going to die,” screams a woman.

Many people are making fun of this situation in the comments of the post. “It’s normal to fall in Ushuaia if it’s windy,” writes one user. “There are always these turbulences in the flight to Patagonia; the wind, even more so in Santa Cruz and Tierra del Fuego”, assures another.

“I went through a storm once and I think lightning hit the plane,” joked one follower. But the truth is, in response to the DJ’s question, many admit that they would have screamed like the women in the video when the plane shook.

Strong winds in the Andes Mountains

Pictures taken by Niko on June 12 during a trip from Buenos Aires to Ushuaia, Argentina. He says turbulence is common in the flight section over the Andes because of strong winds recorded on the highest peaks, which can reach heights of about 7,000 meters.

Despite the scare, no one was injured and the plane landed safely in Ushuaia. The next day, Nico posted a video where he stated that he was fine, that everyone was fine, and that he was worried about a woman and her son sitting behind him, who were screaming because they were so scared.

“They were desperate, poor people, screaming a lot. The woman asked to get off the plane. But this kind of thing is normal when you fly. So I ask everyone not to panic if one day this happens to you. Keep calm that everything will pass.”
