Last surviving offspring of Hyderabad Nizam passes absent

Sahebzadi Basheerunnisa Begum, the final surviving daughter of Nizam Mir Osman Ali Khan, the very last ruler of erstwhile Hyderabad Condition, handed away below on Tuesday. She was 93.

She breathed her previous at her home in Purani Haveli on Tuesday early morning. She is survived by her only daughter Rasheedunnisa Begum.

“It is a huge loss to the household as Sahebzadi Basheerunnissa Begum Saheba was an epitome of Hyderabadi culture, tradition and values,” Nizam’s grandson and president of Nizam Household Welfare Association Nawab Najaf Ali Khan instructed IANS.

She was buried at Dargah Hazrat Yahiya Pasha in the old city of Hyderabad. A number of members of the Nizam’s spouse and children participated in the funeral. Basheerunnissa Begum was married to Nawab Kazim Yar Jung, better recognised as Ali Pasha, who handed away in 1998. Mir Osman Ali Khan, who was the world’s richest person of his time, died in 1967.

The past Nizam had refused to accede to India just after the country’s independence on August 15, 1947. He required to remain an impartial condition or be a part of Pakistan. The princely condition eventually merged with the Indian Union in September 1948 soon after an procedure by the Indian Military.
