Covid-19 tested positive.

The 40-year-old singer made the announcement on her Instagram on Saturday afternoon, hours before she was to attend the Apple Music Versus event opposite the Kaishiya Cole.

She reiterated that she was feeling well and was ready to attend the event from home, and Kishiya told her to rest and that they would reschedule for the New Year.

According to the erVerzuzTV Instagram account, the scheduled event will take place on January 9th.

‘Unfortunately, tonight Ashanti vs eKeyshiaCole #VERZUZ we have to postpone. Ashanti tested positive before COVID-19 and we can not endanger anyone in the process, ‘she said in a statement.

Chatting: When she repeated that she was feeling well and ready to attend the event from home, Kishya told her to rest and that they would reschedule for the New Year.

As you can see on the Instagram accounts of both artists, the event will start at 5pm Pacific time on Saturday.

As with any production of this period, COVID tests are definitely given before studio call time to ensure that all participants are negative.
