On Saturday evening, unfortunately, the curtain fell on the final evening at the Port Canal Tavern. At this final meeting of the summer, the city's festival commission chose to honor Ireland and its music and dance. We didn't leave out the group responsible for bringing this beautiful country into the spotlight.
For two hours, the “Comrades Irish Banda” entertained around 2,000 people who sat around large round tables and partook of a traditional gourmet meal.
Before the start of the show, Ernest Lopes, the Deputy Mayor in charge of the celebrations, always thanked everyone who contributed to the success of these evenings, especially the technical services of the Town Hall, before giving the program of the upcoming celebrations. . In his turn, Mayor Jean-Michel Baillet added: “We are very happy to welcome you, who have always been faithful to our appointments, and I have no doubt that we had a wonderful summer. I do not forget Philippe Gill, who offered us the pink piano and shows in our good city of Valencia.”
Regular caterers, stands offering their specialties and refreshment bars quickly took over and you had to queue to be served.
As for the concert, the Comrades Irish Band Group, along with three beautiful Irish dancers, offered two hours of festivities that included Irish ballads and parts of the group's ACDC. As soon as they took the stage, they announced the color with the sound of bineo, violin, guitar and songs, and they quickly warmed up the restaurant. A troupe so close to the public that they don't hesitate to get under the stage to interact with the dancers.
