WASHINGTON – The U.S. Federal Reserve said in a statement Thursday that health workers must be vaccinated against Kovid-19.
The move will affect 25,000 employees who come in contact with patients at health centers run directly by the federal government, including staff at Indigenous Health Services who serve members of indigenous tribes across the country.
The time limit for injection of employees is not specified in the statement.
“Our primary focus is on the health and safety of the American public, including our federal workforce. Health Secretary Xavier Bezera.
The statement said seasonal influenza vaccinations and other routine immunizations are already needed by most federal-appointed health care workers.
In late July, Biden asked the military to consider how and when the Kovid-19 vaccine could be added to the list of mandatory vaccines for the military.
Meanwhile, the White House has announced that millions of federal employees will have to be vaccinated or face a number of restrictions.
