“This is racism”. On Friday, March 25, UN Special Rapporteur on the human rights situation in the occupied Palestinian territories, Michael Link, denounced the international community for allowing Israel to establish a political system there for decades.“Racism”.

Presenting his final report to the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva, this independent expert calculated “The Israeli occupation, now in its 55th year, has become more and more entrenched and repressed indefinitely.”.

He listed “Continuous land grabs, ever-expanding Jewish-only settlements, the dual legal system, the huge gap between the living conditions of Israeli settlers and the Palestinians living among them, the wide gap in political rights.”.

He denounced “The brutal features of a partition regime” Founded by Israel “Special roads, high walls, ubiquitous checkposts not implemented in South Africa”. “In the eyes of the international community, Israel has imposed on Palestine the reality of apartheid in the post-apartheid world.”He added.

The West Bank and East Jerusalem have been under Israeli control since 1967. About 700,000 Jewish immigrants are currently living in these two settlements, which are considered illegal under international law.
