Types of related projects

The objective of this program is to develop scientific and technological transfer of excellence by promoting New collaborations. Participation of Young researchers and doctoral students is mandatory. Possibility to apply for a European Framework Program for Research and Innovation Horizon Europe It is an important factor in project evaluation.

Team Eligibility Requirements

The call for applications is open to researchers in research laboratories connected to higher education institutions, research institutions, companies or cultural institutions engaged in research, as long as they are connected to a partner academic.

Special consideration will be given to gender equality in all successful applications.

Project Selection Committee

Eligible projects are subject to separate scientific evaluation by each of the two parties. Authorities from both countries meet alternately in Ireland and France to compare assessments and jointly decide on support for selected projects. Public and private partners are involved in the strategic selection of the projects they support.

For the French side, MESR's European and International Affairs (DAEI) representatives provide scientific expertise to the files.

Methods of operation

The duration of the projects is 24 months.

There must be financing from the French side Compulsory consumption on annual basis.

The first financing should be used in the meantime January 1, 2025 and December 31, 2025. The second can be spent in between January 1, 2026 and December 31, 2026.

he Mobility is supported Researchers from French institutions participated in the program by funding their travel between the two countries. Any other funding necessary for the implementation of joint projects shall be provided by the partner laboratories from their own funds or other sources.

Depending on the themes, strategic partners may support projects:

  • Adem and SEAI (Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland) in the field of environment, climate and energy transition.
  • France's Electricity Transmission Network (RTE) and its Irish counterpart IRGRID In the areas of renewable energy and smart grids, there are broader technical and social issues related to the energy transition.

The Renewal Credits for the second year are subject to:

  • Optimal utilization of allocated funds for the first year;

Eligible expenses

Resources granted by France cover living allowances and travel for researchers from French institutions.

As an indication, the maximum funding granted is €5,000 on the French side (€2,500/year) and €5,000 on the Irish side.

Project monitoring

Project leaders are invited to submit their application in advance to avoid technical mishaps that could compromise submission of the application within the allotted time frame.
