UAE astronauts will train with NASA on spacewalking and Mars

Emirati astronauts will travel to NASA’s Johnson Space Center later this year for future space missions.

As part of their training, they will include space walks and “long station missions” (which is like a trip to Mars for us.

Announcement by the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Center and the US National Aeronautics and Space Administration.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of the UAE DubaiHe tweeted, “We are pleased to announce that the UAE has signed an agreement with NASA to train astronauts to the International Space Station, including space missions and long-term station missions. The program will train our youth and astronauts for future missions. ”

Hassa al-Mansouri and Sultan al-Nayadi will be part of the training. Al Mansouri responded to Sheikh Mohammed’s tweet, “Your Majesty, thank you for your boundless support and for enabling us to make our aspirations a reality. We have always been committed to the development of our country. We promise to make the most of our training and future space missions. ”

Al Mansouri and Al Nayadi are currently training in the US. The UAE Space Center has announced that two more astronauts will be selected from the second batch of UAE astronauts.

Previously, the UAE had conducted training in Russia prior to its launch to the International Space Station. This marks their first training with NASA.

Will train for various missions in space, including long stays in space, robotics, extra-vehicle activity, T-38 jet courses, and water and land survival.

Congratulations to them on starting training later this year.
