Patrick Querre, a farmer from Goulven, Finisterre, set off on Friday 13th September for a three week holiday in Ireland… on a tractor! An extraordinary journey, and not only that… He intends to use the media coverage of his journey to change the way farmers are viewed.
On the wheels of New Holland without a cabin, itinerant farmer Patrick Quere is preparing to set off from Goulven in Finisterre to take on a slightly maddening challenge. Patrick and his tractor are preparing to arrive in Ireland for a three-week journey across the country. A few minutes before his departure, about twenty neighbors and friends arrived at his farm to say goodbye and wish him well.
At 60 years old, this is the first time the producer of beef cows, pigs and vegetables has taken such a long leave.
“This is my own Santiago de Compostela. I start thinking about it myself. I don't pick up a work phone. I leave everything behind. I have prepared the farm so well that the workers and my partner can do it without me.He comments.
I don't bring my phone to work. I leave everything. I prepared the farm so well that the staff and my partner could do it without me. I'm not essential.

A three-week adventure, but Gaulvenoise plans to tread lightly: “I have my tent, I have digital equipment, I have inner tubes in case I break out, and I want to knock on the doors of farmers there to find accommodation.”
Another challenge: Although he now owns a touchscreen phone, Patrick wants to share his journey on social networks. A way for him to take advantage of this long journey to change the image of farmers. He boarded the ferry this Friday evening at Roscoff. To be continued!
