This festival on Mars is not really safe

A European satellite has discovered an incredibly realistic angel with wings, a halo and a heart in the south polar region of Mars. It seems that some Martian artists painted this scene to wish peace and happiness during the holidays, but the supernatural exhibition has a great scientific explanation.

The festival was filmed by the European Space Agency’s high-resolution camera Mars Express Orbit. Normally, this part of the Red Planet is one mile thick (1.6)-Kilometer-thick) Glacier, but it is currently summer in the South Pole of Mars. Mars Express was able to take photos as the ice temporarily disappeared Landscape gives another example of paridolia (Tuesday Infamous To see things that are not really there).

In fact, this painting of a hallowed angel with his right hand outstretched and close to his heart is the result of several geological processes, ESA Explaining.

The contrasting colors are not on top of a creamy cinnamon stick or cocoa latte, but a vast doon field full of dark, rock-forming minerals (mostly pyroxene and olive are available on Earth).

What seems to be the tip of the angel’s right hand is probably a large supply pit. When the ice turns directly into the gas, empty holes are left. Supply pits can be found elsewhere in the Solar System, including the dwarf planet Pluto.

Halo – Perhaps the most striking feature of the festival scene is actually the range of an impact crater. Anyway That was it It crashed into Mars and deposited several layers from below. These dark deposits contain the head of the angel, which is fortunately located within the ancient impact crater, giving the impression of an all-around effect.

To the right of the image is a steep escarpment, which forms the bulk of the heart. Formed from millions of years of erosion, this form contains rock formations, steep slopes and some dark deposits, the origin of which is unclear.

As the ESA points out, scientists believe these dark objects were “once below the surface in layers of material formed by ancient volcanic activity.” Although the object was once excavated, “since then it has been brought to the surface by constant impact and erosion, and then widely distributed across the planet by the Martian wind.”

That’s it Super cool was the optical illusion Made by some equivalent geological processes. At 50 miles (80.5 km) wide, the Mars Express has previously discovered attractive features on Mars. Ice rink Giant in the Korolev crater Cinnamon bun At the North Pole.
