The Snake: BBC One’s historic New Year’s crime drama

In early 2021, The Serpent, a real-life-inspired crime drama called The Bikini Killer from the Seventies, is coming to BBC One. The series is then released internationally on Netflix.

On January 1, 2021, BBC One announced the premiere of the historical crime series The Serpent. The ITV Studio Eight-hour-long episodes were produced. Outside the UK and Ireland, the series will then go online on Netflix.

The series is a crime drama written by Richard Warlow (Ripper Street). Directed by Tom Shankland (The Missing) about Charles Sobharaj (Tahar Rahim), a celebrity who was known in the 1970s as the Bikini Killer or the Serpent and later lived in Paris before being convicted of murder in Nepal. Jenna Coleman, better known as Dr. Hu and Victoria, plays Marie-Andre Leclerc, the accomplice and accomplice of the French murderer, who became one of Interpol’s most wanted criminals.

Also starring Ellie Bomber, Amesh Edireweera, Mathilde Warnier, Gregor Ishwarin and Tim McKinney.
