Intel We are now discussing the arrival of the first EUV lithography device to arrive in Ireland. Installation of this expensive device from ASML requires exceptional logistics. The machine has been partially exported since December last year. The expedition required 4 Boeing and 35 trucks to carry the entire machine. FAB 34 is located on Leixlip, In Ireland. Its assembly is complete.

Why so long when ASML is in Holland? Quite simply, Intel wanted to put its flour in this machine before validating its deployment. We do not know what Intel could do, but before sending it back to Europe, the EUV tool was first shipped to the USA and to Hillsborough, Oregon.

This machine is the first in a series of 4, all of which must integrate FAB 34. It is essential to move on to the construction process. Intel 4 (7nm) is equivalent to 4nm of TSMC, which marks the beginning of the processor Intel Meteor Lake .

It is also a materialization of the massive investment on the part of the blues to regain control (and technical leadership) of the chip burning process. Work on the Fab34 site began in 2019, and the facility is expected to be online by 2023. The factory will double the construction site of the existing site and pave the way for the construction of Intel Process Technology 4.
