French adventurer Jean-Jacques SavinOn January 1, the Portuguese navy reported that he had set sail on a rowing boat from Portugal to cross the Atlantic, but had gone missing at sea and his boat was found upside down near the Azores archipelago.

The 75 – year – old Savin’s support staff said in a Facebook post on Saturday that his body was found in the cabin of Odysseus’ boat, which was smooth and purposeful, but was delayed until Saturday. Another statement signed by daughter Manon said the body had not been found.. “There has been no official confirmation from the Portuguese maritime authorities yet,” he wrote.

The Portuguese navy said in a statement on Sunday that the search for Sav’s boat had begun after it sent a distress signal just before midnight on Thursday. The search included a naval corvette, three aircraft and several merchant ships, one of which was found in a waterproof bag with Savin’s documents, he said.

They found the wrecked boat in the turbulent sea and brought it to the Navy ship on Saturday. In 2019, the Savin Atlantic sailed from the Canary Islands of Spain to the Caribbean in a barrel-shaped capsule.
