During the hearing, jurors learned that the recipient Moneyvale had already bought a $1.35 million mansion in Craigieburn, North Melbourne, in February. However, she transferred the ownership of the property to her sister Thilagavathy Gangadori, who lives in Malaysia.

Therefore, the court also ordered the freezing of illegal assets against Gangadori. However, these initially failed as there was no response from the sister and the lawyers. The only sign of life the court saw was a note from Manivel’s lawyers saying “Got it, thank you”.

As a result, the court granted Crypto.com a default judgment to force Gangadori to sell the house as soon as possible, as the first attempts failed. The money has to go back to the company immediately, along with about $30,000 in interest. According to the court, it is still unclear whether the crypto financial institution will get back the rest of the millions – it is highly unlikely.
