The Internal Security Force’s General Directorate – Public Relations Division said the WhatsApp application was circulating using an electronic link that its publishers claimed allowed the Ministry of Interior and municipalities to distribute financial aid worth 400,000 Lebanese pounds to each citizen.

After further investigation, they said it was a fraudulent link and its aim was to grab the victim’s personal information and the issue could lead to extortion.

Therefore, this General Directorate requested not to access any link without checking the source.
