Supermarket Christmas Opening Hour Ireland: Aldi, Lid and Super Valu end warning users

Published on

Lid, Aldi and Supervalu have extended the December start-up time to give users a warning.

It appears that all retail toilets will be allowed to open from December 1, while essential stores will be reopened to sell non-essential items while they remain open throughout the epidemic.

As the Christmas shopping rush is likely to intensify further this year, many stores are extending their opening time for the festive season.

Here is the collapse of three of Ireland’s largest shops:

Lid

Liddle, one of the most popular stores in Ireland, is open every day from December 17 until Christmas Eve from 7am.

However, users are warned to “show compassion” and always follow Covid-19 guidelines when dealing with hard-working staff.

A spokesman told Dublin Live: “Lid will facilitate an extended trading period until Christmas, with stores opening every day from 17 to 24 December.

“Shoppers can check out the quietest time to shop at the WhatsApp: lidl.ie/quiet. While it is easy to escape the excitement of Christmas, we respectfully urge all customers to follow current government guidelines when shopping in store during the busy holidays, and to show compassion when dealing with our hard-working store teams who work tirelessly. To deliver our high quality Christmas range to our 167 stores nationwide.

As an essential retailer, we want to assure our customers that Lidel has a strong and vibrant supply chain to ensure that food and supplies are available to communities across Ireland during the Christmas season.

Aldi

Aldi is another store that opens more time to allow shoppers to buy Christmas essentials.

On some days of Christmas week they start at 8am and close until 11pm.

The complete breakdown of their start time can be seen below.

Niall O’Connor, Managing Director, Aldi Group, said: “Providing a safe environment for our customers and employees is our number one priority. We are extending this Christmas start time to ensure that more shoppers can take advantage of our unbeatable range and prices and safely take whatever they need.

“Most of our stores will be open during the Christmas week from 8am to 11pm, which will expand demand and allow customers to shop at the most convenient time.”

Aldi Extended Christmas Opening Hours:

18 Friday: 9am to 10pm

19 Saturday: 9am to 10pm

20 Sunday: 8am to 10pm

21 Monday: 8am to 11pm

22 Tuesday: 8am to 11pm

23 Wednesday: 8am to 11pm

24th Thursday: 8am to 7pm

Superwall

During the festive season, when SuperWall operates a timetable that opens more often, it will depend on the individual store.

Shoppers are asked to check their local store on time.
