Torino. Airlines canceling flights to and from Ukraine following the closure of the airspace.
There are no flights departing from Ukraine today at Fiumicino Airport. Ryan Air’s FR7852 flight to Kiev was canceled at 1.35pm, arriving at 7.40pm (FR7853) from the Ukrainian capital, and again operated by an Irish carrier, with airport monitors providing live departure and arrival information.
Ryanair canceled a flight departing from Turin Casselle Airport at 6.50am this morning and departing for Kiev Borispil, saying “tickets have been withdrawn from sales for at least the next four weeks – read on the airline’s website – until further information is available from EU security agencies”.
“We sincerely apologize and apologize for these unprecedented interruptions and the inconvenience they inevitably cause to our Ukrainian customers,” Ryanair added. Wis Air made a similar decision.
“Due to recent events in Ukraine and the closure of airspace, Wizz Air regrets informing customers that the company has suspended all operations in the country,” said the company, which operates with several connections from Turin.
The safety and health of our passengers and staff remain our priorities, in the hope that the situation in Ukraine will soon return to normal.
This problem also affects Belarus: the general staff of the Armed Forces Part of the Minsk airstrip was closed to civilian aircraft.
The local government announced that Moldova had also decided to close its airspace.
