Spain Holidays: FCO Travel Advice for Spain, the Canary Islands, and the Balearicus as Rules Change | Travel News | Travel

The Spanish holidays drove a rollercoaster this year as the country’s tourism suffered at the hands of the corona virus pandemic. The country was cut off from a travel corridor in the UK on July 25 amid rising COVID-19 cases. This means that anyone returning from the mainland Spain, the Canary Islands and the Balearic Islands will have to pay a 14-day ban.

Although these rules still apply to the mainland and the Balearics, the Canaries are now free.

The islands off the coast of northwest Africa have been added to the ‘safe’ list following a Thursday announcement by Transport Secretary Grant Shoppe.

However, different laws across the country can lead to confusion.

Mainland Spain is still on the ’embargo’ list.

When you return to the UK you will have to isolate yourself for two weeks.

Spain recorded more than a million cases of the corona virus this week, becoming the first Western European country to pass and the sixth worldwide.

Earlier this month, on October 9, the Spanish government declared a 15-day state of emergency in Madrid.

Canary Islands

British holiday makers can now easily travel to the Canaries.

The archipelago includes popular holiday hotspots such as Tenerife, Furtevencura, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, La Palma, La Gomera, El Hierro, La Graciosa, and several smaller islands and islands.

If you are traveling to any of these islands, you do not need to do a shipwreck when you return.

Jet 2 and TUI have resumed flights to the Canaries following their inclusion in the ‘Safe’ list.

Spain entry restrictions

Wherever you travel in Spain you will be subject to three requirements.

These are:

– Provide mandatory contact information and a history of COVID-19 exposure 48 hours prior to departure to the Spanish Ministry of Health.

– Temperature test

– Undergo a visual health assessment
