# Kolkata: Many people have the problem that the Windows laptop or desktop is much slower than normal speed. Experts say it is caused by a malware infection. This issue can be resolved through a factory reset. Many people have benefited from choosing this option. How to perform this factory reset depends on the version of Windows. This reset option is available on Windows 10, 8 or 7.

However, experts say to back up any data before performing a reset, otherwise it may be lost.

Windows 10 Factory Reset (Default Method)

To use this option, first go to Settings from your laptop or desktop. From there you need to select the Update and Security and Recovery option.
