# Kolkata: Many people have the problem that the Windows laptop or desktop is much slower than normal speed. Experts say it is caused by a malware infection. This issue can be resolved through a factory reset. Many people have benefited from choosing this option. How to perform this factory reset depends on the version of Windows. This reset option is available on Windows 10, 8 or 7.

However, experts say to back up any data before performing a reset, otherwise it may be lost.

Windows 10 Factory Reset (Default Method)

A long time ago, this factory reset was a very difficult task. But with the advent of Windows 8 and 10, it has become much easier as there are so many options. To use this option, first go to Settings from your laptop or desktop. From there you need to select the Update and Security and Recovery option. Now the option to reset the PC will appear at the top of the screen. Clicking there will start the reset process.

Windows 10 Factory Reset (New Start, Old Version)

Microsoft offers a factory reset option in another way. This is an older version of Fresh Start. To get started fresh, first go to Settings from your laptop or desktop. From there you need to select the Update and Security and Recovery option. Click on Learn how to get started with a clean install of the Windows link. A Windows Security app will open. Where to find fresh start options. It only works if the gate starts there.

Reinstall via Windows installation media

If someone is using Windows 10 or 8 and wants to do a factory reset without going into settings, you can do so with this installation media. This will allow you to install a newer version of Windows on your laptop or desktop.

Sophisticated boot

It can also perform a factory reset from boot. There is an advanced startup menu for this. To do this you need to go to Settings from your laptop or desktop. From there you need to select the Update and Security and Recovery option. Advanced Startup Section. Go there and click restart.

This factory reset will fix the problem of the laptop slowing down or hanging again. There will be no problem to work with.
