Extreme heat hits California, spurring rolling power outages for first time since 2011

For the 1st time because 2011, California purchased rolling electricity outages on Friday night. Officials warned there could be further blackouts to arrive about the weekend.

The California Unbiased Process Operator (California ISO) declared a Phase 3 electrical emergency on Friday, ordering utilities to take measures to lighten the electrical power load and initiating rotating outages all through the condition.
