Samsung’s 980 Pro PCI 4 SSD comes in 2TB

Published on

In June, I wrote an article that Samsung’s flagship PCI 4.0 SSD, 980 Pro, only comes in capacities up to 1TB. When this became clear, I made a mistake, and I’m really happy about that.

In a listing via the UK e-Tailor scan, 980 Pro 2TB is very welcome in Samsung’s range. To date, the only PCIe General 4M2 SSD Saber Rocket 4 Plus with a capacity of 2TB is the Samsung 1TB980 Pro, the company announced two days after its official unveiling.

The 980 Pro 2 TB Scan is listed in the UK for $ 443.99, paying about $ 590 in taxes. If you have storage for games after you, it is a good idea to take a look at our list of the best SSDs where you can find a capacity drive similar to more than half the money. You may have to give up TLC flash and 7GB / s data transfer speed, but you may not notice anything other than the money you did not spend in your wallet.

Until the appearance of the 980 Evo, the 980 Pro was the only PCIe Gen 4 option in Samsung’s lineup. Full specifications for the 2TB flavor have not yet been listed, but the 1TB drive is happy to read up to 7,000 MB / s and write up to 5,000 MB / s, with a tolerance of 600 TBW.
