Rocket League Ghostbusters Halloween tie-in event announced

With just a week to go before Halloween, Epic Games has announced one Rocket League Event featuring a Ghostbusters “Haunted Hollows” tie-in theme. From today, players will be able to unlock special Ghostbusters themed items such as wheels, mood slim boost, slimmer and stay puff toppers. To win these items, players must complete Event Challenges, and each will unlock each item from the Haunted Hollow Set. Also, the Ecto-1 vehicle returned to the item shop, along with goal explosions featuring Stay Puff or Reaper. The tweet embedded below shows Ecto-1 and Topper.

In addition to the unlocked in-game items, fans can also participate in a couple limited time modes. The Haunted Heatseaker is similar to the standard Heatseeker mode, but it takes place in the new Haunted Urban Arena. There is also a spike rush that takes place in night map variants.

Ghostbusters items have been released before Rocket League, But this is the first time they have had the opportunity to play the game since last month. In fact, the Ecto-1 is the first licensed car to return to the game’s item shop after the change!
