Road to Wembley continues as the FA Cup second round matches are confirmed

Conway Island’s FA Cup third dream is just around the corner – Monday night ‘s second draw drew with fellow non – league team Boreham Wood.

In the first round of this year’s competition, the lowest ranked team in the competition won at Banbury United, and now faces more non – league opposition in the form of the National League team.

Marine stunned League One side Colchester United with a penalty shootout victory in the first round, and all non-league draws as they face Havant & Waterloo for a place in the third round.

Chorley’s reward for eliminating Wigan from the FA Cup is a draw against Peterborough.

Chorley, of the National League North, beat the 2013 winners of the match 3-2 after extra time on Sunday and will now face Posh on London Road – the highest-ranked team at this stage.

Elsewhere, new Salford City boss Richie Wells will travel to the League of High-Flyers Newport County, where they have enjoyed several excellent cup runs in recent seasons.

The second round of the draw took place

Another new boss, Nigel Clough, will face Mansfield Town team, National League fighters Dagenham & Redbridge, who beat Sunderland in the first round.

All ties will take place from November 27 to 30, with the Championship and Premier League teams advancing to the third round.
