Police in riot gear stormed a rally in Minnesota on Sunday, removing hundreds of protesters by truck. The girl has been identified by her relatives at the scene. The Star Tribune reports Dante Wright, 20.

The case is about 10 miles from where George Android was killed in May last year.

During the protest, a group of people went to fight the police action by throwing stones.

Police responded with tear gas and rubber bullets and shots.

The Brooklyn Center of Police said in a statement that a man had been detained by police officers before 2pm for a traffic violation and that an arrest warrant was still in force.

He got back into the vehicle while police tried to take him away. The driver was shot and killed by a police officer, the statement said. The driver drove several blocks before colliding with another vehicle and dying on the spot.

Minnesota Governor Tim Walls said he was monitoring the situation. “We pray for Donte Wright’s family, while our state mourns another life of a black man taken by the police,” he tweeted.

Tensions are high in the area as Derek Chu, a white Manneapolis police officer, enters his third week testimony on the trial. In a police approach, Chuvin knocked George Floyd’s neck, who was already handcuffed, and died of suffocation.
